Vehicle Description Fuel Required is pleased to present this incredible 1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible in our McDonald, PA showroom.
This timeless beauty has received a rotisserie restoration and is finished in the very desirable Blue Charcoal metallic with Parchment interior.
In fact, the car was painted by Bruce Harvey of Pro Comp Customs who is a two-time winner of the prestigious show car Ridler Award.
The name, GTO was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO.
The moniker is an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato, designating being certified by the FIA for racing in the grand tourer class as a production car.
The first Pontiac GTO began production September 3, 1963, and was available as an option package for the Pontiac LeMans, available in coupe, hardtop, and convertible body styles.
The $295 package included a 389 cu in (6.
4 L) V8 with a single Carter AFB four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust pipes, chromed valve covers and air cleaner, a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, stiffer springs, larger diameter front sway bar, wider wheels with 7.
50 ? 14 redline tires, hood scoops, and GTO badges.
The GTO became a separate Pontiac model (# 242) in 1966, instead of being an option package on the Tempest or LeMans.
The entire GM A body intermediate line was restyled that year, gaining more curvaceous styling with kicked-up rear fender lines and a longer restyled hood.
This GTO also benefits from a rebuilt 389ci V8 V-8 topped by three 2-barrel carburetors, a combination rated at 360 HP and 424 lb-ft of torque all matched to a 4-speed manual transmission.
It sports the Hurst shifter, power convertible top and Hurst wheels mounted to new BF Goodrich Silvertown redline tires.
The odometer reads 66,366 miles.
This vehicle qualifies for a complete classic vehicle warranty up to 10 years/40,000 miles.
Fuel Required always recommends and welcomes personal or professional inspections of any vehicle in our inventory prior to purchase.
